The In-Between

In the world of animation, it takes multiple frames to create one second of work. There are key frames, which are the main visuals that are portrayed, and then there are the in-between frames. This exhibition, “The In-Between”, highlighted both the literal in-betweens of pre-production work and the in-between of different aspects my personality at my solo exhibition at the Tweed Museum of Art.

Visualizing the Space

Something that I find very neat is interacting with an environment. As I developed my show, an important aspect was to incorporate tactile activities for museum goers to interact with. Although the final piece shifted direction visually, the tactile nature of the project did not.

The Connection

This show was an environment where these animations came to life. Whether they were sitting on the same rug that my character sat on, or whether they were sitting in the same bright red lawn chairs, I wanted the viewers to be immersed in their environment.
